There is a maximum of $20/week charge per student and $30
/family. Once it is reached all other classes are free. This is
because we want to encourage those children and parents who are
interested in pursuing dance more seriously.
The students will be required to wear a body suit of a colour code to match those of their class. Pink tights are also required. A ballet skirt of any colour would be nice but is not mandatory. All students should wear their hair neatly up.
We recommend the ballet technique for its extreme discipline on
the body and the mastery of balance, poise and coordination. A
ballet class consists of two parts: the 'barre', and the
'centre'.

Creative Movement is a free expression of Dance. We offer this
course for the very young dancer to prepare her or him for the
finer techniques as she or he grows. Games to music will be
emphasised, yet some exercises will be introduced.

Young bodies are flexible and learn fast, but the concentration
span is short. All this is taken into consideration. We want to
share the love of dance and make it fun. This is a half hour
class.
Pointe work is half an hour class added to an advanced or intermediate ballet class. It is for the serious dancer.

Over the years, there have been many new styles of dance, following the evolution of music and the diversity of people, and their traditional styles, Alvin Ailey, Martha Graham, Merce Cunningham, Twyla Tharp, and others are all creators of these new styles and are now recognised as modern and jazz techniques worldwide. They provide a different approach to Dance. Turn out is not emphasised, and therefore is less demanding for the body. The upper body is worked individually, shoulders, head and back and adds another dimension to the rigorous ballet technique. We recommend it for all those who want a well-rounded vocabulary of Dance.
